Explaining why you failed at something really doesn't seem to rate highly on what others want to listen to.

Love Thy Neighbor

My next door neighbor Lyle, who is one of my regular collectors, likes to come to the studio and make a few sarcastic remarks from time to time. At one of my shows Lyle was moving from painting to painting making various comments until he came to one on the wall where he paused and said "I guess this gruesome, strange looking painting is from the school of Cubism started by Picasso?" "No Lyle," I said "thats a mirror."

God as Master Painter

I have always thought of God as The Master Painter. First, He painted the skies, the seas, the mountains, the trees, the rocks and the flowers. Then, turning to wildlife, He painted bears, bees, birds and fishes. He splashed on white for clouds, green for grass, gray for sorrow. And then, to make the painting complete, He added the blood of Christ for LOVE.

Retreats

I wish the church would stop having so many "retreats" and have a few "advances".

Generation Gap

I first noticed the generation gap a few years ago when I mentioned to my grandson that there was to be an eclipse. The gap appeared when he asked what channel it would be on. The gap widened this year when it appeared on channel seven. :-D

Winning

It is my conclusion that motivation comes easily when you are winning; however, the idea of winning needs some thought. Winning is ( at least most of the time) not just conquering somebody else. Winning is the bettering of yourself.

Just a Thought

It takes less time to travel from New York to California than it ever did before, but it takes longer to drive across town to the grocery store.

Mother's Wrinkles

As my mother, bless her heart, grew to be fifty, then sixty, then seventy, and beyond, her face filled with wrinkles. There were many, and they went in every direction. I saw the wrinkles...everyone did, but I saw, too, what years of Christian living had also placed upon her face. That, too, went in every direction. It had been said that a woman has the face she deserves by the time she is fifty.

Poetry

Poetry is sometimes the best method to say something, in a non-offensive way, that needs to be remembered, emphasized, understood or emotionalized. I guess what I mean is - everybody should write a love poem. - Kenneth Wyatt
